1988 Peregrine B1

This is my 1988 Peregrine B1. I purchased it as you see it below. This will be a complete restoration. The paint and decals will need to be restored, however I think the chrome is good enough to leave original.

Here is the frame and bars after getting fresh paint. Single stage, no primer, no clear coat!

After a lot of time in Illustrator and finding a good printer, I finally have my decals. I am not sure the colors are 100% correct, considering I only have pictures of one other blue B1 to work from. As you can see above there is not much left of the original decals.

Head tube decal installed. I have to admit, they look good.

Fork decals installed. There were repop decals previously installed, but they were not in the original position on the fork and they were missing the CR-MO designation. Because of the age of the chrome, I could tell where the original decals were so I put the new ones in the same place.

Seat tube decal installed. This decal is almost always incorrect on repop decals.

Downtube decal installed. Looks really good!

I have an original Anlun bottom bracket installed. This is a first generation bottom bracket that is in excellent condition considering it's age.

The NOS back double-sided sprocket and first generation cranks are installed. Originally this bike would have had an OPC (one piece crank). The B1 XT came with double dimple (second gen) cranks. With that said, these would have been a logical upgrade for this bike. The decals are repop and the cups and bolts are replacements because all of those items were missing.

Seatpost decal installed on my rechromed fluted seatpost. This is the correct seatpost for this bike.

The bars, stem, and rotor are installed. The stem was used, but the rotor and Lee Chi bracket were NOS.

The NOS front and rear brakes are installed. The blue accents work well on this bike.

The matching levers are installed along with used grips. The original grips would have been black/black, but I think these just work with the bike. And they are just cool!

Here is a toast to Peregrine and bike building!

Here is a picture of the completed bike. I know I have to go back and fill in the pictures I skipped.
