This is my 1987 Peregrine Perfectionist Scooter. This is how I received it. It is all complete and original down to the tires. There will not be much to do here, a little cleanup and some rusty bolts.

Here is a pic of the head tube badge. It is different than all the other head tube badges. What I also find interesting is this is the only time I have seen Peregrine trade marked on the decals.

I took some time to cleanup the scooter and pack the wheels (there was only a hint of grease in them). I was pleasantly surprised the tires still hold air. I am not sure these are the original pegs, but I do not have any reason to suspect they are not since everything else is correct.

As you can see the frame standers are missing from this picture because I sent them to get re-chromed. They were rusted so bad the chrome was peeling. I originally thought I could find NOS was on Ebay, but I discovered that I would have to restore them because the frame tubing is a different size between a scooter and a bike.

Everything here is original except for the cable stop, which I had to replace because the original one was rusted beyond worth.

Apparently Peregrine made a Rang-A-Tang in 16" and a chrome one in 12". The chrome one has been spotted once, but the 16" has not been seen to my knowledge. There are only a known handful of the Perfectionist, which also came in black and white.

I swapped out the rusty deck bolts with some stainless steel hardware. I stayed with the original #2 Philips pan head bolt so they look like the original bolts, just upgraded!

Mid project pic. I need to rebuild the brakes, polish the levers and get the frame standers re-chromed.

I have completed putting the Perfectionist back together. These are the original grips all cleaned up and the original brakes polished up with new cable stops. I was able to re-use the orignal cable housings, but I replaced the brake cables.

The stem and rotor are all original. I did replace the cable adjuster on the stem and new brake cables. Something to note here; this scooter is from 1987, and it does not have a Peregrine rotor. We did not see the rotor until 1988.

These are the original brakes. I polished up the caliper and replaced all of the hardware from another set of Lee Chi brakes to keep them correct. I also replaced the brake pads with Peregrine style Wheel II pads. Because of this, they look new, even though they are original to the bike.

Here are the re-chromed frame standers. I originally thought they were add-ons, but the catalog shows them on the scooter, along with the front pegs. I was able to re-use the original frame stander inserts. Looking at the wheels, I did have to replace the axle nuts and washers after rebuilding the hubs.
